Da Kijiji – Black Business Network

Brand Identity Design

Da Kijiji is on a mission to revolutionize the Black community by building a modern-day village centered on economic empowerment. Their vision is rooted in unity, collective action, and the belief that thriving Black businesses are the key to true freedom and power. Through their three core offerings — a conversation-sparking podcast, strategic business services, and a network of Black business influencers — Da Kijiji provides both inspiration and tangible tools for lasting change.

I created a complete brand identity that visually embodies this mission, including a logo, font system, and a set of custom icons representing the brand’s core pillars. The design balances boldness and clarity, reflecting the energy of “making good trouble” and the structure of a blueprint for success. This visual system was built to be instantly recognizable and adaptable across digital, print, and social channels, ensuring Da Kijiji’s message of unity and empowerment is amplified at every touchpoint.

Initial Concepts

Inspiration was collected into 3 buckets of possible brand identity directions – centering around A) many pieces creating a whole B) community source of nourishment C) the individuals behind the creation.
